Description
The Deck folding armchair with footrest BM5565, conceived by Danish designer Børge Mogensen in the 1960s, features a design that invites outdoor relaxation, thanks to its wooden slats shaped to naturally follow the curves of the body. With a generous, reclining seat and a frame designed for optimum comfort, we have the option of adding a padded fabric cushion for extra support. When not in use, it can be folded flat and stored or hung on the wall as a decorative element.
The Deck folding armchair with footrest BM5565 combines functional robustness with natural materials and timeless aesthetics. Carefully crafted details allude to the designer's past as a cabinetmaker and clearly evoke the styles of American Shakers and 19th-century English furniture design.
Made from FSC™-certified teak, the Deck folding armchair with BM5565 footrest is wind and weather resistant, ensuring continued durability.

Normal cleaning and care - untreated teak
Before using your new teak furniture, you should consider what type of look you prefer for your furniture. If you choose to leave your furniture untreated, the color of the light-brown teak will change to the characteristic silver-gray surface for which untreated teak is known. This transformation process depends on the specific environment in which the furniture is located, and will take place over the following weeks or months.
If, on the other hand, you want the furniture to retain a warm, golden color, you get the best results by treating it with oil before using it for the first time.
Special care - Teak
It's important to clean teak furniture regularly, whether oil-treated or not. Regular cleaning prevents dirt and algae from discoloring the surface. If normal cleaning is not sufficient to remove dirt, we recommend using a special wood cleaning agent. After thorough cleaning, oiled furniture should be re-treated with oil.
To take the best possible care of your teak furniture, we recommend that it be stored in an unheated shelter during the winter season.
Please note that untreated teak tends to discolor if the wood gets wet, for example from rain or glass stains.
We recommend covering teak furniture when not in use to protect it from the elements.
